Prequalm contains L-tryptophan, an amino acid that transforms into serotonin inside the body. Serotonin is also known as “the good mood hormone”. L-tryptophan is also a precursor to melatonin, the substance that controls sleep and wake cycles, thus generating serenity. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid; therefore, the body cannot synthesize it independently: it can only be taken through diet and supplementation, just as it has been done in humans and, in particular, in children for several years (44).
